"Owl Tree"
5 foot high x 2' diameter

After St. Francis preached to the birds, they took off to the
East, West North and South
and formed the shape of a cross.

"Oh, that I had wings like a dove!  For then would I fly away and be at rest.  Lo, then would I wonder far off, and remain in the wilderness.  Selah, I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest."  Psalm 55:6-8
The tragic events of 9/11 got everyone thinking.  My thoughts turned to the heros that work to keep us safe every day.  One of our local volunteer firefighters posed for this sculpture.  It is an honor to immortalize their actions in bronze.
This "dead" tree has become a home and habitat to a community of animals- all sharing their found real estate and "getting along".  Many discoveries can be made as one circles the sculpture.  More animals will be added to the base.  This sculpture was generously underwritten by Weld Women's Sertoma for the Children's garden.  It teaches many lessons.
Owls are a favorite subject.  I have a pair of Great Horned Owls at my house most of the year.  This sculpture even is motorized and turns his head very slowly - a sure attention getter.
All of these examples are cast bronze.  They are available in editions of 9 only.  If you are interested in one for your sculpture garden, please contact me.
